Ted Harris-Means
I have making videos and films since High School. Using a Sony Handycam and iMovie, I started by first making videos for my church and youth group. Eventually, I would go to Film School at Eastern Washington University to better refine my skills.
Since graduating in 2012, I have been working in all types of video and media production. I’ve worked on television shows on HGTV, TBS, MTV, Oxygen, ABC, and Syfy. I’ve worked on live sports productions with FOX, ESPN, ROOT Northwest, and local broadcasters. I’ve also worked in Post-Production studios helping make everything from TV pilots to wedding films.
This mix of education and experience has made me a kind of swiss-army-knife of video production. Below are some examples of my work. More are listed on the side of this page
Generations (2010)
This is a short film I made in 2010 about a family of women. When tragedy strikes, an estranged mother is left to deal with the memories and emotions from the relationship with her daughter. Coping with this bagage is complicated by the arrival of the granddaughter that she's never met. The music is recorded by a local artist, Karli Fairbanks(now Ingersoll), and was also the inspiration for the film.
This film was screened at the 2nd Annual West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival in 2011.
Busted (2013)
Short film made for the 2013 50 Hour Slam in Spokane, WA. The competition required that the film 1.) include one of the 6 Spokane Public Library locations as a setting, either inside, outside, or both, 2.) use a book as a prop, and 3.) thematically adapt one of three short stories that had been featured in The Inlander's short fiction contest. The film made the Final 15 and was screened at the Magic Lantern Theatre in Spokane, WA on May 11, 2013. The experiences of the team were featured in an article in The Inlander published May 7, 2013. The film was awarded Slammy 1st Runner Up for the viral vote portion of the competition.
